St. Mary’s Meets All Requirements for Highly Qualified Teachers and Paraprofessionals

We Are Proud To Say That We Have Met The Highly Qualified Standards Under The NCLB For The 2008-2009 School Year.

According to the No Child Left Behind legislation all Texas schools should have 100% of their staff meeting the highly qualified requirements.  We are happy to report that for the second year St. Mary’s is at the 100% mark!  We have been working hard to make sure our students are getting the best education possible.

Our teachers and paraprofessionals receive a lot of different training opportunities
throughout the school year to help meet the guidelines set down by NCLB.  Reading First does much of the training in K-3 along with the workshops offered in other areas at the Educational Service Center for Region 2.  We are offering masters level reading classes on our campus for the teachers in cooperation with Texas A&M Corpus Christi as well as tuition assistance for those who wish to take classes on the college campuses in the area.

All of our classes are taught by teachers and paraprofessionals who meet the Highly
Qualified definitions set out by NCLB.  Some have reached their goals through college credits and others through training offered through ESC2.  We are proud of the fact that our school
has worked hard to meet these guidelines and provide for our students at all levels.
